No matter how you look at it, 2024 has been a heck of a year for video games. Even only here at 2Game, we were hard-pressed to come up with an update to our list of top 100 PC games, and that's without even looking at some of the less popular and widely acclaimed games released in 2024. All genres were represented, with some making a triumphant return to form. That's a different can of worms, however.

In fact, today we're all about looking forward, at the stuff that's about to come out sometime this year. Down below, you'll find a list of 25 of our hotly anticipated PC releases, as well as all of the launch dates we have as of January 2025. Have fun!

Most Anticipated PC Games of 2025

Dynasty Warriors: Origins - January 17

This one might sound strange at a glance, but this is actually the first Dynasty Warriors game in over a decade that's genuinely trying to push the franchise forward. With proper PC feature-set support, improved engine-level performance, and a compelling gameplay loop, could this be the one?

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - January 23

Making its way onto PC at long last, FF7R serves up the next chapter of this acclaimed story. For franchise fans, it's a must-play. For everyone else, it's just a darn good JRPG.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 - January 30

Another imminent PC port, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is precisely what it says on the tin! While it's not as monumental of a release as the original was, it's still a delightful title that's going to be a natural fit on the PC platform.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - February 4

This is the real deal: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is the sequel to one of the best medieval action RPGs of all time. That alone qualifies it for this list, but it's also worth noting that this isn't a niche that often gets explored, so you're not even spoiled for choice all that much.

Civilization 7 - February 11

A new chapter in the beloved Civilization franchise is about to unravel, with some massive new developments propelling it into the new era. The gameplay changes are too many to enumerate here, but it's going to be interesting to see how CIV7 fits into the series' production pipeline for sure.

Assassin's Creed Shadows - February 14

We're finally getting an Assassin's Creed game set in Japan! And it's looking mighty interesting, to boot. With improved combat and physics and - arguably most importantly - parkour mechanics, Shadows poises itself as the ultimate AC RPG, but will it pan out?

Avowed - February 18

Obsidian Entertainment's Avowed is one of the most eagerly awaited games of 2025, and that's because the studio working on it has ample pedigree but also because this is kind-of-sort-of the Elder Scrolls game that we never got.

Monster Hunter Wilds - February 28

What could we possibly say about Monster Hunter Wilds that's not already been said? It's a fancy new Monster Hunter: you know you'll be playing it all the time and for years to come.

Football Manager 25 - March TBA

Following its troubled pushback late in 2024, Football Manager 25 is yet to regain its community's trust. With a new tech-stack and engine comes a new set of complications, for sure, but we've got our hopes up that everything will work out in the end.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered - April 3

The Last of Us is Sony's premiere cinematic franchise, and it was only a matter of time before the infamous sequel made its way onto PC as well. As for ourselves, we can't wait to finally play it.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater - TBA

An honest-to-goodness remake of the beloved Metal Gear Solid 3 is coming, and though we don't have a launch window yet, the expectation is that it'll be dropping in sometime relatively soon.

Assetto Corsa EVO - January 16

A new Assetto Corsa has been a long time coming, and it's now been revealed that EVO will eventually even have a massive open-world to explore and roam through. Keep an eye out for this one if you're a gearhead.

ARC Raiders - TBA

A PvPvE extraction shooter, ARC Raiders' claim to fame comes from the game's remarkable level design and verticality. It looks a tad like PUBG, except retro-futuristic and far more three-dimensional in its combat. Could work out!

Borderlands 4 - TBA

After Borderlands 3 fumbled the franchise's story rather hard while delivering stellar gameplay, we're hoping for Borderlands 4 to correct course in this respect. Not much is known about the game yet, but we're hoping to see it in action in 2025.

DOOM: The Dark Ages - TBA

Folks, it's more Doom. What else could you possibly need to know? Cheekiness aside, the Doom Slayer is going to be more brutal and tankier than ever before, going so far as to be able to just rummage through enemies if push comes to shove. Neat! And he gets to ride a dragon!

Dying Light: The Beast - TBA

Dying Light 2 stands out from its widely acclaimed predecessor in some key (and questionable) ways, and The Beast - as a standalone expansion pack - aims to correct many of them. Step back into the parkour shoes of Kyle Crane, now infected and ready to take vengeance.

Fable - TBA

Playground Games' first foray into proper open-world RPGs is none other than a Fable revival! Coming from Forza Horizon over to Fable is a heck of a leap, but we can't wait to see it in action and play it ourselves.

FBC: Firebreak - TBA

A co-op multiplayer offshoot of Control and Alan Wake, FBC: Firebreak is Remedy Entertainment's first proper foray into this niche, but it's already looking phenomenally interesting and inventive. Courtesy of New Weird, of course.

Hyper Light Breaker - January 14 (Early Access)

Set to hit Early Access in mere days, on January 14, Hyper Light Breaker is a follow-up to the legendary Hyper Light Drifter intent on continuing its legacy. This time in full 3D with an ever-changing world to explore and co-op multiplayer, this is the indie to keep an eye out for in 2025.

Kingmakers - TBA

Ever wanted to take on a medieval army with high-caliber machine-guns? You can do so in Kingmakers, a wild shooter/strategy hybrid that asks you: what if?

Mafia: The Old Country - TBA

A brutal return to form for the Mafia franchise, The Old Country takes us back to where it all began: the 1900s Sicily. With a greater focus on melee combat and its brutal close-quarters effects, too!

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra - TBA

A single-player action game set in Marvel Universe's 1943? That's precisely what Rise of Hydra is, featuring Black Panther, Cpt. America, Wakandan spy Nanali, and Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos. How's the game going to pan out, we do not know, but boy howdy does it look good.

Mewgenics - TBA

Coming from the phenomenally twisted pen of Edmund McMillen, the creator of The Binding of Isaac, Mewgenics should finally be coming out sometime in 2025. It's a cat-breeding turn-based RPG with life sim elements, but we're barely scratching the surface here.

The Outer Worlds 2 - TBA

Obsidian's other big 2025 release is none other than The Outer Worlds 2! This is a known quantity for the most part, and those who enjoyed the original release know what to expect: a high-quality semi-linear RPG/FPS with traditionally excellent writing.

Slay the Spire 2 - TBA

Arguably saving the best for the last, Slay the Spire 2 is actually near the top of any card game fan's list of top anticipated titles. An unexpected but highly coveted sequel, STS2 is everything we know and love about its predecessor amped up to eleven.

Of course, everyone's got their own preferences, but we think we've covered an extremely wide variety of games here, with plenty more to be revealed as the year goes on.
