Though it's been out for some time now, there's still some confusion surrounding the EA Play games list, the service's pricing, and its full feature-set and offerings. There's a bunch to go through, though, so we weren't surprised to see that this was the case. It's the start of 2021, and if you're looking to maximize your gaming time while minimizing your expenses, you'll definitely want to see what the EA Play subscription has to offer.

It wasn't long ago that we covered Antstream Arcade: a dedicated retro emulator service. Basically, if you were hoping to get something similar but for modern top-of-the-line titles, EA Play is kind of that. We do believe it certainly has more of a universal appeal, what with some of EA's games having appeared in our top-tier game lists from a few days back. That's right: EA Play gives you immediate access to the celebrated publisher's latest and greatest. But there's more, of course, and we're here to explain why you, too, might want to look into it.

What is EA Play?

EA Play is not quite as new as some of us might think at first. Namely, this is basically a revision of Electronic Arts' several disparate game subscription services, with them all being rolled out under a single refreshed umbrella. Specifically, we're talking about last-gen consoles' EA Access and PC's Origin Access. Those technically do still exist, but they're bundled together as 'EA Play,' so it's not like any specific feature-sets were lost along the way. Instead, the whole thing is now simplified and more streamlined, allowing you access to a wide variety of EA's evergreen titles across platforms. There's a bunch of bonus features added to the mix, too, but we'll get to those a bit later on.

The important bits, then, are that EA Play lets you access EA's curated selection of games at what is basically an unbeatable price of £3,99/month. Or, if you get your monthly sub via 2Game, you get an even lower price whenever you need it. Neat, right? Oh, we're just getting started.

What is EA Play Pro, then?

EA Play Pro is an upgraded - and more expensive - version of the baseline EA Play subscription service. Users get unlimited access to all of EA Play's features, for one. Whereas the basic EA Play subscription-only nets you 10 hours of EA's latest and greatest games at no additional cost, EA Play Pro removes all limitations. You can play anything and everything available via Origin on your platform of choice, while also having unlimited early access to all of Electronic Arts' latest releases. EA Play: £3,99/month

EA Play Pro: £14,99/month

So, there you have it. That's what you get for your money's worth, depending on which version of EA Play you end up going with. But what are these evergreen EA titles, you're probably wondering. Thankfully, we've got the full list waiting below.

What is the full EA Play Games List?

For better or for worse, the PC game list of evergreen titles available via EA Play differs a fair bit from that which is available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. In some cases, this is due to there not being a PC port available in the first place. In other cases, there seems to be no apparent reason for the exclusion of a game. Either way, find the full EA Play games list on PC below.

And that's about it at the moment of writing this article! But dang, look at the size of that list. That's a great deal of high-profile, high-end gaming right there, and we'd call it great value for £3,99 a month (or less!), but that's a big honking understatement right there.

EA Play Games List updates: how often?

While EA Play Pro - obviously - nets you immediate access to all the latest Electronic Arts releases, the evergreen list does get updates and new content every once in a while. Not too often, mind, as Anthem still hasn't made it to the list, so it seems like EA does pick and choose which games will be available when. The good news, though, is that EA is really not looking to remove anything from this list, so feel free to settle in. Of course, if you're looking to play through some of the games on this list once and be done with them, then it's an even better deal. Stuff like Jedi: Fallen Order is essentially a must-play, but not everyone might be eager to own a copy or, say, return to the game a few years down the line. EA Play is practically tailor-made for such situations.

What other EA Play Features do you get?

Of course, EA Play does nab you an extra assortment of features on top of ready access to games. As you may or may not know, non-EA games are sold on Origin, too, and simply being subscribed to EA Play applies a permanent 10% discount to all their prices. In many cases, a single sale might be worth the subscription price alone, so be sure to look into that if you're remotely interested in sales. Exclusive content such as skins and whatnot is a bit of a double-edged sword, depending on how big of a completionist you are, of course. In practice, the feature is somewhat similar to Ubisoft Connect's skins and reward items, which has worked out well enough for Ubi in the long run.

Way more interesting - we think - are the early access and demo features afforded to EA Play subscribers. These, we've already mentioned in the feature section above, but we'll go into a bit more depth here, too. Basically, if you're not too keen on jumping into the fray and potentially buying an expensive new game that you end up not liking, getting EA Play lets you "test" it for up to 10 hours per title. That's right: a 10-hour demo is waiting, no matter the EA game you might be interested in. There's also the fact you can play upcoming EA releases up to 10 days before they come out! Of course, baseline EA Play only nets you 10 hours of playtime (again), but that's way better than nothing, isn't it? All in all, it's a pretty grand package, we feel.

Wrap-up

It's a simple statement of truth that Electronic Arts has a game repertoire that's jam-packed with awesome IPs. From Need for Speed over Dead Space, all the way to Star Wars and Battlefield: just about everything you could possibly want to play is available off' EA. EA Play comes in as a phenomenal value proposition to those who aren't averse to game subscriptions. Sure, you don't actually get to keep the licenses you grab while you have an active EA Play subscription, but you do get to play great games to your heart's content. We've made such a great deal into an even better one: save more money by getting EA Play off 2Game today, and have a phenomenal start of 2021.
