Being a huge, sprawling ARPG, it wasn't immediately obvious what the best Hogwarts Legacy spell combos might be. After spending plenty of time with the game and testing our findings on a truly worrisome number of both stronger and weaker enemies, we've come up with a lovely little list of must-try spellcasting load-outs to deal damage, massive damage, on the multiple enemies Hogwarts Legacy will throw at you.

The thing is, though, that we've done away with the basic Disillusionment, Petrificus Totalus combo for the purposes of this article. The game itself plainly explains how its stealth systems work. With that in mind, this specific spell combo works in much the same way as a stealth attack does in any other open-world game. That's certainly not what you're here for. And, if you're a total newbie to Hogwarts Legacy, our starter guide will be the way to go anyway.

Instead of brawling with the basics, down below you'll discover a lovely list of interesting (and fun!) spells in Hogwarts Legacy that will help you get to the end of the school year. Some of these you may have heard about, but we're sure at least a few spells will be all new to you, too. And trust us, with so many enemies wanting to take you down, you'll need as many spells as you can get your hands on!

The Best Hogwarts Legacy Spell Combos

Our task for the day has been to come up with a list of the best Hogwarts Legacy spell combinations that don't rely on Dark Arts. In Hogwarts Legacy, Dark Arts talents are arguably the easiest way to kill enemies outright. And, if that's the way you wish to go about it, then have fun taking out multiple curse enemies at a time using one of the overpowered spell combos. Dark Art talents, or spells, are easy to mix and match, however, and work with pretty much anything. The same cannot necessarily be said about regular spells, including utility spells, force spells, and elemental spells, which work better when combined with specific counter-casting techniques.

With that in mind, down below you'll find a few very powerful spells that will easily keep you afloat throughout most of the game's encounters, even against those dreaded cursed enemies.

From crowd-control spells all the way to sniper-level blast-outs, there are many spells that pull enemies in and destroy them, for you to enjoy! Note, too, that each of these spell combos can only get better if you invest in particular Talents. That, however, is a story for another day!

Glacius + Petrificus Totalus Spell Combo

We'll start with the weirdest but also the most powerful spell combo with a huge caveat: these spells will only work if you're facing an enemy in one-on-one combat. Namely, there are more uses for Petrificus Totalus spells than might be apparent at first. One of them, specifically, is a technicality in the Hogwarts Legacy engine. You want to get rid of all the enemies aside from your most powerful cursed enemy and then cast the Glacius spell on them. This spell freezes the enemy and, once you move behind them, makes the game think you snuck up on them. Just hit your Petrificus Totalus at that point to deal massive damage to the troublesome enemy!

Levioso + Depulso/Descendo Spell Combo

A lovely and potentially incredibly powerful spell combo to deal massive damage and also provide top-notch crowd control! It is fairly situational, mind - best used when there are walls to slam cursed enemies against or, say, holes to throw them into. Simply cast the Levioso spell on an enemy and then either Depulso them away or plant them into the ground with Descendo. A particularly handy spell if you're being harassed by close-quarters attackers. Or spells to use when you're feeling cheeky!

Depulso + Transformation Spell Combo

An understated combat spell, the Transformation spell can help you turn your most powerful enemies into simple animals or even objects. If you find an enemy that just won't back away or stop being a royal butt-pain, Depulso them into oblivion and Transformation them into... well, random stuff, really. These spell combinations work wonders on most regular enemies, though they won't be all too useful on bosses and huge foes. To that end, give the spells a shot, but note that they might not be universally useful!

Accio + Incendio + Depulso Spell Combo

This spell combo is particularly fun with some proper Talent upgrades. Incendio is an incredibly powerful fire spell, but its range is a serious downside. To that end, you want to pull your enemies close with Accio, cast a quick Incendio, and then Depulso them back into their original location to give yourself more breathing room. If you upgrade the Incendio fire spell with its dedicated area-of-effect Talent, you'll be able to rapidly dish out serious damage to a whole arena's worth of enemies to boot!

Glacius/Arresto Momentum + Diffindo Spell Combo

Diffinido is a joy to use, as it's essentially a long-range lightsaber attack. To make the most of it, though, it pays off to prep the enemies ahead of time with a lovely crowd-control combo. To that end, either Glacius or Arresto Momentum spells would work, but we recommend the Glacius spell for its own additional damage potential. Heck, if you can apply a Curse or two via Talent trees, you may well have the best spell combinations in the game with Diffinido. It's just a joy to use and to wipe out enemies with!

Levioso + Depulso + Confringo Spell Combo

If you want to push an enemy back and get a breather, the Levioso plus Depulso spells are a default favoriteHowever, if fireballs are your thing, consider checking out Confringo, too. While it's not quite as damaging as Incendio, it has a remarkably good range to compensate. So, lift your enemies up with Levioso, push them far back with Depulso, and then engulf them in flames with Confringo! Fire spells don't get much better than that. Unless, of course, you hook your Confringo with a Talent or two that makes each connected hit cast two additional mini-fireballs that home in on surrounding enemies.

Flipendo + Bombarda Spell Combo

best spell combos in hogwarts legacy: bombarda

We're referencing this one because it's just too ridiculously funny not to be listed among the best spell combinations. Flipendo works in much the same way any other crowd control spell does, except it also flips your enemies up on their heads! Once that's in place, hit enemies with Bombarda to absolutely ruin their day. The Exploding Charm was always going to be fun to use, but combining it with Flipendo is both potent and funny, making it a go-to option. Because, really, why not?
