Exciting news! Capcom has set up a surprise release following its 2023 Spotlight stream, and we now all have a chance to play Resident Evil 4 PC Demo to our heart's content! The aptly titled Chainsaw demo puts you smack-dab in the middle of one of the original game's most iconic early scenes and tells you to go ham. So, ham we've gone, and we're here to report our findings and get you, too, to play the darned thing!
Now, while you can run to get the demo right away, it's going to pay off if you read through this short summary, too. Not only is it the perfect pastime while the demo downloads, but we also have a special offer ready to go, exclusively here at 2Game. Strap right in because, from the looks of it, we're in for the ride of a lifetime.
Everyone and their mum knows by now that game demos are a lost art in 2023. The vast majority of gaming companies simply don't bother with them, and even when they do, the final product is fairly subpar. At most, they give you an idea of what the game is about and, sometimes, a taste of what's to come. We're thrilled to report that Capcom didn't take the easy way out with the Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo.
What we've got here is, pretty much, a tiny vertical slice of the actual game. Featuring a bit of exploration, a bunch of combat, and a tantalizing amount of hype. Even as a standalone product, it's deeply satisfying and a stellar way of coming to terms with RE4R, if you've been skeptical up until now.
For fans of the franchise, it's an excellent way to experience what the full game will be like on March 24. For those who can't handle the hype, it's a phenomenal teaser for the future. Finally, if you just didn't like what you've seen of the game so far, we reckon the Chainsaw Demo will convince you that Capcom's got something special brewing.
Released as a part of the Capcom 2023 Spotlight festivities, the surprise launch of the RE4R demo serves as a phenomenal way for the publisher to cap off its show. It's a mic drop, really, and it may well be the best demo we've had in ages.
Its main purpose, of course, is to tantalize the player with a promise of what's coming next, and boy does it ever do its job. You can see how Resident Evil 4 Remake looks and plays, and appreciate some of the work Capcom's designers have done early on. Spoiler alert: it's all quite phenomenal. The editorial team can attest to the game looking even better than Village while running faster, and with more graphics options to fiddle around with.
If you've been concerned about Resident Evil 4's hardware requirements, the demo is your chance to test the game out on your rig. So far, things are looking up, with stellar ray tracing and excellent post-processing effects. And, while all of Capcom's previous RE output does look great, RE4R takes things to the next level in the graphics and animation department. This, in turn, massively improves player immersion!
As you can probably tell by now, we absolutely recommend you play Resident Evil 4 PC demo as soon as you can! The Chainsaw Demo, as it's come to be known thanks to the appearance of a certain emblematic RE4 Ganado, is available for download via Steam. It's pretty small, too: just 10 GB in total. In other words, you should be able to get it up and running in a matter of minutes.
If you're anything like us, the demo is going to leave you wanting more. We've got just under two weeks to go before the game comes out - on March 24, do jot it down - but it's going to be a heck of a wait! Now, the good news doesn't stop there.
Once you're done with the demo, you'll be thrilled to know that you can pre-order RE4R via 2Game to get 13% off right away. That's right - we've set up an exclusive early bird discount for our buyers, and you too can save a pretty penny by buying the game here!
But wait, it gets better. This offer extends even to the cosmetics-loaded Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil 4. And, of course, since this edition of the game is more expensive, you save even more money by buying it here.
All keys will be delivered day and date with the release of the game, and you'll save enough money to get yourself a lovely dinner to celebrate the occasion. What's not to like?
Are you new to 2Game? Would you like to learn more about Capcom's next flagship release? No problem! It just so happens that we've been loading up on awesome RE4R content ahead of the game's release, so you've got heaps to choose from:
Naturally, it's still a tad early to tell whether this new remake will make its way onto our list of the best RE games on PC, but the demo - as we're sure you'll agree - is a phenomenal sign in our book. Heck, we'd go so far as to suggest that it may even make the count for 2Game's top 100 PC games list, but we're getting ahead of ourselves here.
For the time being, give the demo a whirl and save a penny by buying RE4R via 2Game. Once that's settled, stay tuned to our Community Hub, as we've got big plans for the coming weeks!
