Greedfall is the upcoming role-playing game from Spiders - an AA game dev studio that delivers beautiful and interesting narrative RPGs with a fraction of the budget that high-profile devs get. Spiders have been perfecting their craft over the years, and Greedfall looks like the culmination of all of their efforts.
Greedfall will set players loose on an uncharted island that's teeming with magic. As one of the colonists that are trying to tame this brave new world, players will customise their armour and weaponry to the nth degree. A compelling story with fascinating characters will ensure that your interest does not skip a single beat. We're quite excited to see how Greedfall fares, and we're sure you are, too!
There's not much we can say about The Surge 2 that hasn't yet been said. This exciting mesh of Souls-like gameplay with mech-fueled brutality looks incredibly polished, and seems to build upon its predecessor in every possible way.
With an almost Lovecraftian horror looming over the city of Jericho, players are tasked with cutting and beating their way through veritable hordes of enemies to try and stop the second robot apocalypse. The game's unique visual identity and vicious gameplay mechanics have us giddy already.
Honestly, our interest peaked when we saw The Surge 2 is adding more depth to the cut-and-take premise of the first game. In essence, players can literally cut off enemies' body parts and equip them as weaponry. Besides, what other game lets you fight biomechanical monstrosities with monomolecular spears? It was all too easy to add The Surge 2 to our list of top PC games in September 2019.
Not everyone is into fighting robots with spears, we know. Perhaps you'd just prefer a more grounded and realistic game to spend dozens of hours in. Fans of basketball rejoice, because NBA 2K20 is almost upon us!
Promising to "redefine what's possible in sports gaming", this year's official NBA game is attempting to do no small feat. The usual suspect list of improvements such as better graphics, physics, and the like are all present and accounted for. In addition to those, however, we can look forward to some new stuff as well. The immersive open-world Neighborhood mode, for example, will mesh traditional basketball culture with classic NBA gameplay we all know and love.
It's hard to go wrong with 2K's offerings in general, but with NBA 2K20 being unafraid to try some new stuff out, we're quite eager to see how it all works in practice.
We've already written in length about eFootball PES 2020, but it's difficult to overstate its importance. 2K is going for a more casual and lighthearted approach with NBA's Neighbourhood, as we've seen. On the other hand, PES 2020 is trying to carve its niche in the eSports scene. See, Konami is going all-in with PES 2020 in an attempt to secure an all-new and properly developed football eSport. No rocket-cars to drive around the field here, we're sorry to say.
We've no doubt that this change in focus has challenged the developers, but we've also no doubt that they're about to deliver something entirely special in this year's Pro Evolution Soccer.
Which of these are you most excited about? Do you lean more heavily towards balls or swords? Either way, we're sure you'll have found something to your liking in this listicle. If you're interested, don't forget to grab our special discounts, as they'll save you a few bucks while pre-ordering. Happy hunting!
