Norland was one of the biggest surprises of the year for us, delivering an awesomely comprehensive and engaging Rimworld-esque medieval colony simulation out of the blue. It is, of course, still in Early Access on Steam, but that's not to say there's not much to enjoy here already, as the game's proven time and again since its release. Is there a content roadmap available, though?

While the developer of Norland, Long Jaunt, hasn't released an official update roadmap just yet, we do have a pretty solid idea of what's going to happen with the game in the short term. Norland Early Access Content Roadmap

Most of the information we have today on the matter of a Norland content roadmap comes from a recent FAQ/interview Long Jaunt posted on Steam. We recommend seeking it out as it's loaded with interesting information, but if you're just here for the gist of it, here's what to expect out of Norland in the upcoming years:

• Dynamic weather and climate systems
• Wild animals (more than Fleshwolves)
• Warmth measuring
• Diseases, medicine
• Personal NPC-specific items
• Defensive structures and city expansion (e.g. public buildings, city walls...)
• More in-depth court intrigue systems (e.g. betrayals, new behavior types, reactive behavior...)
• Religious expansion and integration
• Social interactions between NPCs
• Global crises and large-scale events
• Armies and combat development
• Procedurally generated worlds, events, and locations

This is just a truncated list, of course, and as we said, you're going to want to check out the full FAQ over on Steam if you'd like to learn more. However, this should give you a pretty solid idea of all the goodies that are coming to Norland in the near and far future. And note, too, that we now have confirmation that we're getting post-launch DLCs after the game pushes on from Early Access.
