Best PC RPGs - January 2020

late gaming christmas gifts

As far as best PC RPGs in January 2020 are concerned, we opted for two Bethesda goldies and two new RPGs. No matter whether you're interested in heavily established powerhouse developers or smaller indie-like productions, the beginning of 2020 is a great time to be getting into playing awesome role-playing games.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Special Edition) is and always will be a safe bet. This aging open-world RPG remains a phenomenal sandbox game, especially if you look into our recent modding-focused article. Enhancing your installation of the game is easy-peasy through the use of Vortex and SSE Nexus, and we cannot recommend it enough. Fallout 4 is in a similar spot, in that you can mod it to heaven and back. Such massive RPGs only get better when you customize them just right, and this particular feature is emblematic of Bethesda-produced games.

For those who are uninterested in modding, but sure would like to play an awesome RPG, you can choose between Obsidian's The Outer Worlds and Spiders' GreedfallThese games have proven themselves to be highly competitive and quality products and they're an easy recommendation for just about everyone!

Best PC Action Games - January 2020

best PC games January 2020

We're taking a wild turn here. Bear with us! Instead of separating the following games into their respective genres, we've billed them all as 'action' titles. You'll discover everything ranging from driving games to immersive sims here. That's because there's a lot of awesome stuff to cover, and we're trying hard to keep things sweet and speedy. That said, the recommendations practically make themselves.

Borderlands 3 is the belle of the ball, with its incredible evolution of the franchise core gameplay formula. Despite that, the game is true to its roots, and a must-have for every fan of the series! Over the years, the same publisher - 2K - has graced us with a number of other amazing games. Lately, the ones we'd like to recommend the most are surely GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. Whether it's cowboys, gangsters, or space treasure hunters - 2K's selection of phenomenal game devs has got you covered.

We could hardly complete this article without mentioning the incredible Dishonored: Complete Collection deal. This nets you two mainline Dishonored games and two standalone expansion packs, as well as a variety of additional goodies. HITMAN 2 follows in a similar vein, while Yakuza Kiwami 2 takes us eastward. In a way, all three of these games are immersive sims, though to varying degrees.

Wreckfest, though, is another story. This badass car racer/wrecker comes from the talent behind FlatOut 1 and FlatOut 2 - two revered titles in the genre. For fans, this is an essential purchase!

Best PC Strategy Games - January 2020

best PC games January 2020

Though strategy game fans often get left out of such considerations, we're happy to announce there's plenty to pick from even here. Though we are waiting for the next major strategy game launch, we also have a selection of modern classics! Like Creative Assembly's Total War: Three Kingdoms and Henry Cavill's own favorite Total War: Warhammer II.

On the Firaxis side of things, we must offer XCOM 2 and Civilization VI - two incredible turn-based strategy titles, while Football Manager 2020 kinda fills the same niche, but also very much not.

Management games, on the other hand, are also often left by the wayside. Not here! We're huge fans of both Cities: Skylines and the wonderfully wacky Two Point Hospital. If you're even remotely interested in management (micro and macro) and infrastructure, these are the titles to keep in mind.

Conclusion

At the time of writing, you've got about 10 more hours to go until our awesome Winter Sale is up. Some of the games we've featured above have special discounts attached to it, so you're definitely going to want to check them out while the deals are still going strong. Rest assured, though, that there's plenty more discounts coming your way very soon.

In fact, if you miss out on any of the above, just bookmark our website and check it out from time to time. There's heaps of great stuff coming in the future, and we don't think you're going to want to miss it entirely. Happy gaming in 2020!
