The time has come! You can get Borderlands 3 Steam now, and you can do so right here at 2Game, better still. Having originally launched in September of 2019, Borderlands 3's Steam release date was pushed back in favor of a temporary exclusivity deal with the Epic Games Store. For some, this was hardly an issue. Others, however, found themselves at odds with this new game launcher and marketplace.
Drama aside, we're more than happy to announce that you - the consumer - now have the decisive option of choosing which platform you will be playing Borderlands 3 on. That's right! 2Game now supports both Steam and EGS versions of the game! Better still, if you get the game on Steam and then want to play with someone who purchased Borderlands 3 on EGS, you can. The game supports full crossplay between the two platforms, as it turns out! Anyway, let's get right into the specifics.
For a franchise as old and storied as Borderlands, it's no wonder fans easily get emotional about it. This ended up being the case in September, with Borderlands 3 releasing as an Epic Store exclusive. As you might imagine, this didn't sit well with some players, who instead chose to wait for the game's inevitable Steam release.
Those players have lucked out today! Starting today, you can get Borderlands 3 Steam as well as an additional post-launch DLC pack. As we've said before, Borderlands 3 presents you with genre-leading gameplay and a much-needed improvement over its predecessors. In short, guns are shootier, and enemies are explodier! There's even actual, proper endgame now, and it's every bit as varied as you'd expect out of a mainline Borderlands release.
Chances are, though, that you're simply after loot. It's only fair, of course, because loot is (and should be) the driving force behind every Borderlands game. You'll be very happy to hear that there's plenty of it. Better still, it's more interesting than ever before. If you're into specifics, let us invite you to check out our Borderlands 3 gun manufacturer overview articles. We've used those to go into some serious depth far as this topic goes.
You bet! In fact, if you'd like to read about Borderlands 3's first DLC, we've prepared a handy overview just for that. Naturally, its Legendaries got a dedicated piece to go along with! Similarly, Borderlands 3's second DLC is closer than you might think, and it's going to launch on EGS and Steam simultaneously. Full version parity is what we're looking at here, at long last!
If you'd like to play Borderlands 3 on Steam, all you need to do is follow this link to our complete list of related deals. When you're there, be sure to check whether the listing in question is for Steam or EGS: an appropriate icon will tell you as much.
