Dharma City is a sprawling urban playground packed with secrets, challenges, and, of course, some of the game’s most coveted swords. As you make your way through the city’s twisting streets and towering buildings, you’ll need to master wall running and use your grappling abilities to reach hidden ledges and platforms. Along the way, you’ll face a few enemies, including tough shielded enemies that require quick reflexes and clever use of your shadow ability to defeat. Keep an eye out for explosive barrels to clear groups of foes or open up new paths. One area you won’t want to miss is the green hallway, a hotspot for collectibles where the Vintage Sentinel sword skin is waiting to be found. Exploring every wall and corner of Dharma City is key to uncovering all the swords hidden within its depths.
Unlocking all the swords in Ghostrunner is no small feat—it takes sharp skills, quick thinking, and a willingness to explore every nook and cranny. Many swords are tucked away in hard-to-reach spots, requiring you to chain together wall running, use grappling points, and time your jumps perfectly. The shadow ability is your best friend for sneaking past enemies or dodging danger, especially when rooms are packed with threats. Sometimes, you’ll need to figure out how to get past blocked doors or scale higher floors by finding the right wall or grappling point. For example, in the “Uninvited Guests” level, you’ll need to use a grappling point to reach a higher floor, then jump into the next room to claim the TsuruGR-74 sword. Stay alert for hidden paths and don’t be afraid to experiment with different routes—every room and wall could be the key to unlocking your next sword.
Since it’s not all that easy to explain where all Sword locations are, and how your Ghostrunner could reach them, we’ve decided to keep this guide focused on brevity first and foremost. We’ll explain how to reach each sword skin in the simplest terms possible. Naturally, this doesn’t necessarily mean that getting them will be easy. No, there’ll be a few enemies to contend with, that’s for sure! Some swords are hidden in battle arena sections where you must defeat waves of enemies before collecting the reward. Indeed, you’ll need to make full use of your shadow ability, grapple points, and explosive barrel! Some swords are found by following the main path, while others require exploring off the beaten track.
While there are 15 unique Swords you can collect in Ghostrunner, you’ll notice that we’ve got 17 showing up in our in-game menu. The final two skins come from the game’s pre-order offer on Steam, which is no longer available. Something to keep in mind. We do feel, however, that there are way nicer blades to gather simply by playing Ghostrunner and chasing collectibles.
It’s worth pointing out that just collecting an unlockable isn’t enough for it to be permanently unlocked in your Inventory. After you collect each of these sword skins, you’ll also need to finish the level you picked them up in. Players will often need to activate switches to unlock doors or access hidden areas containing swords. Otherwise, you’ll need to get the skins all over again.

The Ghostrunner's default sword skin: Seisouken is an incredible feat of engineer that will cleave each and every one of your enemies in half with a single strike. It's just that sharp. The baseline Seisouken is the sword you start with, but it does come in more interesting varieties later on.

The first collectible sword your Ghostrunner can get his cybernetic paws on is the snazzy TsuruGR-74. A decidedly more cyberpunk-looking blade, this is one of our favorite designs in the game.
To get TsuruGR-74, you'll need to travel all the way to the end of the level, and then look around until you find a STOP sign with some boxes behind it. This will be located on an industrial platform you'll be jumping to and from grapple points for the entire level. The sword itself will be tucked away behind said boxes, generally easy to reach if you know what you're looking for.

Nothing says 'Cyberpunk' like a bit of neon on a cyber ninja's ultra-sharp blade. If that's what you want, the next sword, the Sentinel, will be your first choice. It's sleek, it's badass, and it's pretty easy to get, too.
When the level starts, look around and acquaint yourself with the area. The point of interest will be the moving grapple orbs Look in the direction in which the hooks are moving, and then head to the platform with many boxes stacked on top of each other. If you can manage to jump over said boxes, you'll find the Sentinel waiting for you to nab it.each other. If you can manage to jump over said boxes, you'll find the Sentinel waiting for you to nab it.

A more beautiful version of the Ghostrunner's "ordinary" Seisouken blade, the Twilight Seisouken is the next sword on the list, and it's easily one of the prettiest swords in the game! Getting it is kind of tricky, but won't be a problem once you nail down the technique!
Go to the room with the giant crane in the middle, and note the uppermost platform nearby. That's where the sword is located but you must go to the left and find a Grappling Point up in a higher platform to reach it. To grab it, you'll need to hit the switch for the crane to start turning, and then grapple-hook at just the right time to get propelled to the platform with the collectible. Tricky, but very doable.at just the right time to get propelled to the platform with the collectible. Tricky, but very doable.

The Yama might seem like a TsuruGR sub-type, but it is, in fact, an entirely unique sword, with custom geometry and all that pizazz. It is also one of the trickiest Ghostrunner swords to unlock, so get ready to spend some time hunting for this one.
Find the room with a green icon showing up on a ledge, high up above you. Once you activate the said icon, you’ll need to jump down and run along the right side of the room, using the rightmost wall. You’ll soon come across a moving fan, and you’ll obviously need to jump through it to get to the sword skin. The trick is that the green icon slows this fan down, so you’ll need to trigger and rush there as fast as humanly possible.green icon slows this fan down, so you'll need to trigger and rush there as fast as humanly possible.

Another beautiful baseline sword variant: the next sword, the Kinteki Seisouken, is one of the prettiest katanas we've ever seen in a video game. It also uses the default gold + carbon fiber color scheme, albeit applied the other way around. If you were hoping to cut cyborgs in pieces with a golden sword, get the Kinetki Seisouken.
Reach the room with lots of spinning and rotating platforms. Fiddle around until you figure out the small environmental puzzle, which will in turn open up two sets of stairs in said room. This particular Seisouken will be on top of the second set of stairs, behind another Stop sign.

Fans of graffiti and custom skateboard designs will love the Venom TsuruGR, we think. Sporting a badass snake as its main leitmotif, this particular TsuruGR isn't particularly hard to get. It is, however, well-worth any amount of trouble far as we're concerned.
After your first major encounter with the horizontal-firing laser-bots, you'll need to wall-run to a platform in the huge room with hooks hanging around. You'll recognize it by the presence of another platform even higher-up than the one you come in on, but be cautious of the uninvited guests that may appear . Look towards the left from the position you enter the room in and find a landing you can drop down to. The Venom TsuruGR will be there.you enter the room in and find a landing you can drop down to. The Venom TsuruGR will be there.

The Vintage Sentinel is almost assuredly a relic from the Ghostrunners' downfall. Old, bloodied, and rusty as it might be, however, this variant of the Sentinel blade is still plenty sharp for the sole remaining Ghostrunner to use. So do it!
Of all the Ghostrunner swords, the Vintage Sentinel in Dharma City might be the most difficult to visualize a route for. After your first ride atop a gunner drone, you'll come to a location with numerous rails you can ride on. Do that, and once you reach the final platform the rails will take you to, turn around and jump back onto the latest rail. It will take you to a short hallway with the Vintage Sentinel waiting.

We'll call it what it is: the TsuruGR Nini-chan is an acquired taste. If you really can't stand not showing your appreciation for Japanese culture, this is one of the Ghostrunner swords you should really be gunning for.
You'll have a run-in with a few enemies here, namely the lightning-fast samurai kind! After showing them who the boss is, you'll want to wall-run along a few billboards until you reach a higher floor. When you're there don't slide down the nearby ramp just yet. Instead, notice the billboards to the leftmost side of the ramp. Wall-run across those, too, and then drop down to the lower level: you'll find the Nini-chan there.

The Modified Carbon Yama is as subdued as it is deadly. Which is to say - ridiculously so. We feel this will be the go-to choice of those who aren't quite as overeager as fans of the Nini-chan, but who still want to make a... lasting impression.
After dealing with everything and everyone in the underground arena section of the Echoes level, go back to the starting point for the encounter. Look around until you see a tiny hole in the wall, just next to a rather specific-looking sign. Wall-run into the hole and look to the right to find the Modified Carbon Yama sword skin.

Highly reminiscent of the Izanagi's Burden from Destiny 2, the Izanami sword in Ghostrunner may well be the most striking blade in the game. Razor-sharp and ridiculously intimidating, the Izanami is the only blade you unlock via progression. That's right: Izanami is pretty darn special, and canonically the Ghostrunner's weapon of choice for late-game progression.
Get to the end of the In Her Own Image level and eviscerate the boss encounter. The Ghostrunner will then learn the awesome Surge ability, and be provided with the even awesomer Izanami sword. Can't miss this one!awesome Surge ability, and be provided with the even awesomer Izanami sword. Can't miss this one!

If you see yourself playing Ghostrunner and just wondering how is it possible that there’s not one lightsaber-looking blade in the game… there actually is. It’s just that the Void Dragon TsuruGR is available pretty late in the game, and it’s not particularly easy to reach, either. For those looking for a unique style, however, nothing beats hard-light tech.
The Void Dragon sword skin is available after a really major encounter with several different enemy types in the Forbidden Zone. Once you manage to deal with all of them, head on over to the start of the encounter. Follow the ramp that leads down towards graffitti’d walls, and turn left at the end of the ramp. You’ll notice that a section of the wall is raised a bit, with a room hidden behind. Slide underneath, and you’ll find the ultimate version of the TsuruGR waiting for you.

The Izanami Unchained is, from the looks of it, a prototype version of the baseline Ghostrunner Izanami sword. A perfect match for those who might wish for a more industrial aesthetic, we think. It has all the hallmarks for the Izanami with a more pronounced jury-rigged feel to it. All in all, a really lovely design!
At the start of the level, head on through the big hall-looking area until you reach the wall on the other side. Turn right and notice a fuse box you can interact with. We say 'interact', but really we mean 'destroy'. Deal with the fuse box, and a door will open with the Izanami Unchained hiding behind it.'destroy'. Deal with the fuse box, and a door will open with the Izanami Unchained hiding behind it.

The Dharma Street Yama is the endgame variant of the classic Yama geometry. It features a bit of that graffiti chic that cyberpunk is well-known for, although it is far more subdued than what we had with, say, the Venom TsuruGR. All in all, a tastefully edgy option for the anarchist inside you.
After being chased by enemy exploders, return back to the area they first came from. You'll notice a zipline floating in the air towards the end of the room. Just jump on it and keep riding the zipline until you reach the large floating platform with the Dharma Street Yama sitting atop it.

The final sword, the Chrome Izanami is one of those skins that really stand out no matter what you do. Fans of the rainbow cyberpunk aesthetic will enjoy it quite a lot, we feel, and it’s hardly the tackiest of swords you could be gunning for.
Following the considerably substantial zip-line puzzle, look for a nearby tower that will be glowing red. It’s going to have a large black server-looking thing attached to it. All you need to do is to dash-jump to the server, and the Chrome Izanami collectible will be tucked away behind it. Also, keep an eye out for a green screen in the area—breaking this destructible element can reveal a hidden path or shortcut to the Chrome Izanami sword..
As we mentioned before, there are two extra swords in Ghostrunner that may or may not be available later on. We've got a sneaking suspicion that they might stay pre-order exclusives, and we'll explain why that is the case a bit later on. In the meantime, here's what the two exclusive sword skins look like!

They're pretty much the same blade, as you can see. Both Yin & Yang and GR-MR share their geometry and even their skin, with merely the color being different between them. There are also far prettier skins to collect using our guide, if we dare say so. For those who missed out on these two pre-order sword skins, we don't think you should feel terribly sorry about it.

Once you’ve collected all the swords, it’s time to make your mark with custom sword skins. Ghostrunner lets you personalize your blade with a range of colors and designs, so you can create a look that’s as bold or subtle as you want. Whether you’re showing off the electric dream sword skin or adding a glowing red effect for extra flair, the customization options let you stand out in every battle. If you managed to snag the pre order exclusives like the GR-MR or Yin & Yang swords, you’ll have even more ways to express your style. To customize your sword, simply head to the game’s menu, select your favorite skin, and tweak the appearance to your liking. With all the swords at your disposal, you can mix and match until you find the perfect look for your cyber ninja.
Short of looking ridiculously cool, none of these Ghostrunner swords actually make a difference when it comes to gameplay. Instead, they're merely an expression of your own style and preference, echoing the feeling of an electric dream . Not to mention a fun, albeit entirely optional collectible list to chase after.
One thing we do want to point out is that you can inspect all the swords in Ghostrunner! This specific control is hidden away behind the 'Taunt' option in the game's controls menu, and by default, it is bound to the 'X' key on your keyboard. The game never really points this out, but the Ghostrunner does from time to time trigger this option on his own.
If you're moving, the Ghostrunner will twirl the blade around. If you're standing still, he's going to preview it in great detail, allowing you to take in how masterfully each of the designs has been rendered. It's awesome, and there's a number of unique animations you can have fun with. Makes for even cooler speedruns, too!
Collecting all the swords in Ghostrunner is a true test of your agility and determination, but the reward is a collection that’s as unique as your playstyle. Make the most of wall running and your shadow ability to outmaneuver enemies and reach every hidden platform. Don’t forget to explore every corner—sometimes the best swords are tucked away behind a breakable wall or on a final platform that requires a daring jump. For instance, in the “Things You Wouldn’t Believe” level, you’ll need to use wall running to reach the final platform and grab the elusive Void Dragon TsuruGR sword. Keep practicing your moves, experiment with different routes, and use the environment to your advantage. With persistence and skill, you’ll be able to collect all the swords and show off your mastery in the game. Happy hunting!
