While you could purchase the base version of the game, you could also splurge on the loaded Deluxe Edition of Silent Hill 2 and snag a whole host of bonus goodies. Are they worth the asking price, though? Well, that's the big question, isn't it.

It goes without saying that the vast, vast majority of content present in Silent Hill 2 will be available through the base edition of the game. All the really important bits are available to all players, as per usual. With that in mind, if you're a super-fan, you may well choose to snag the Deluxe Edition instead. It is more expensive, yes, at $79,99, but you are getting some really interesting bonuses as well:
And if you specifically pre-order the Deluxe Edition of the game, you're also getting two days' worth of early access to Silent Hill 2 and the cutesy Mira the Dog Mask for James to wear during his plight. Really, though, the early access bit is the most important part of the equation. If you're already extremely hyped for SH2R, then the odds are good you're going to want to play the game as soon as humanly possible.
