Black Myth: Wukong – How to Get Will/Money?

Since Sun Wukong and/or the Destined One aren't all that interested in earthly possessions and money in the Journey to the West, developer Game Science had to come up with a different way of handling Black Myth: Wukong's progression economy and currencies. Their inspiration? Quite obvious, really: FromSoftware's Souls games, although with some meaningful differences.

Notably, there's only one proper currency in Black Myth: Wukong, and you do not lose any of it when you die. Neat, right? The currency is known as 'Will', and you get it by doing a huge array of different things in this game. Here's how to get as much of it as possible!

How to Earn Will in Black Myth: Wukong?

Now, the simple truth is that you'll be earning Will/money in Black Myth: Wukong by doing anything and everything, from killing enemies to destroying pots. Yup, you got that right: the featured image was not chosen at random after all!

All jokes and cheekiness aside, you do get small amounts of Will by doing anything in Black Myth: Wukong, but there is an optimal way of earning loads of it. Our recommendation? Find a Shrine that's got a solid number of small-time Yaoguai nearby. Take them all down to get their Will, and then respawn them back into existence by resting at the Shrine. Simple stuff, right?

It gets better, though, because enemies will also rarely drop Tiny Pieces of Gold - which can also be found by exploring the levels - and you can sell those for Will at any old Shrine. This is, really, the crux of it. Further, farming Will (which is optional) is really the only proper form of farming present in Black Myth: Wukong in the first place. So, this game shouldn't have you stuck in the same area for hours on end farming up Sou- sorry, Will just to level up enough to proceed.
