Black Myth: Wukong – How to Complete the Snow Fox Questline?

Black Myth: Wukong's Chapter 3 is one of the game's longest, most challenging, and most non-linear sections by far, as it builds on top of all the gameplay tropes the game only partially flauts in Chapter 2. One of these aspects comes to a head through some of the most memorable side-quests the game has, bar none, and the Snow Fox questline is one of them.

Notably, as you explore the Valley of Ecstasy, odds are you're going to hear a weak, ethereal voice calling to you. That's the Snow Fox guai asking for help, and if you choose to come to its assistance, it's got some cool rewards waiting for you to grab!

Black Myth: Wukong - Full Snow Fox Quest Guide

The Snow Fox questline begins in the Forest of Felicity, the first major Shrine you find after sliding your way into the Valley of Ecstasy proper. Starting from the aforementioned Shrine, look to your left towards the path that goes slightly upwards, and check the rightmost side of the Torii gate. On the corpse slumped against the gate, you'll find an interaction prompt and the source of the ethereal voice we mentioned earlier: the poor Fox guai.

We're not going to spoil the story itself, as it's fairly interesting and engaging, but we do have the quest completion steps ready for you. Basically, there are a few quirks to keep in mind about this quest: not only is it not always obvious what exactly you need to do, but the game's mechanics also kind of get in your way. So, here's what you need to do!

A few things to keep in mind here. Firstly, you don't want to turn into the Snow Fox too early as any contact with the enemies will dispel it. Further, you cannot use the Snow Fox Brush transformation item if you're aggroing enemies. You're also going to want to avoid as many enemies as possible because they'll otherwise chip your health away well before reaching Non-Void, who's no pushover in the first place.

Be sure to avoid the Blind Monk enemies, if anything: they're powerful, easy to avoid, and just plain annoying to deal with.

Snow Fox Quest Reward: the Snow Fox Brush

After you've taken down Non-Void, you're sadly going to permanently lose access to the Snow Fox transformation, but in return, you will unlock the Snow Fox Brush as a permanent Curio item. It's particularly handy if you're running a Transformation-heavy build, as it moderately increases the duration of all of your Transformations across the board.

It's good stuff, though we did honestly hope to see the Snow Fox as a permanent option for stealth Transformations. It is what it is, however, and the Curio and the story of the Snow Fox guai both make for delightful rewards in their own right.
