Black Ops 6: Can You Transfer Weapons and Skins from MW3?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. Unlike Modern Warfare, which allows cosmetic carryovers between games, the skins, weapons, and cosmetic items you’ve accumulated in Modern Warfare 3 will not carry over to Black Ops 6.

Why The Shift Away From The Carry Forward Program?

While Modern Warfare embraced cross-title integration, Activision’s decision to not allow the transfer of weapons and skins from MW3 to Black Ops 6 is rooted in their desire to offer a fresh and balanced experience. By starting everyone off on the same footing, they hope to avoid the imbalance that can occur when players bring over powerful weapons and rare skins from previous titles and use them in multiplayer. Additionally, Black Ops 6 introduces new monetization strategies, offering exclusive cosmetics, skins, and blueprints tailored to its unique world.

In the words of Activision:

"We want to make sure that everybody starts fresh, together, as we move into an all-new experience with the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Allowing everyone to experience the Black Ops universe the way it’s meant to be played—learning the era-specific weapons and gear, learning the gameplay innovations like Omnimovement, and keeping that signature Black Ops style—is important. Therefore, MW2 and MW3 content will not carry forward to the Black Ops 6 Premium experience."

What About Warzone?

While your MW3 content won’t transfer to Black Ops 6, there’s a silver lining. Your weapons and skins from MW2 and 3 will still be available in Warzone. This means you can continue to enjoy your hard-earned gear in the battle royale mode, even as you start anew in Black Ops 6. Black Ops 6 is expected to join this integration in Season 1, likely launching in November or December after the game’s October release.

Additionally, the Woods Operator Pack, a pre-order bonus for Black Ops 6, will be usable in both Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 6, providing some crossover content.

Black Ops 6 - A Fresh and Unique Experience

OK, so you won’t be able to transfer your MW3 cosmetics to Black Ops 6, but there's a bright side to consider. Starting anew offers the chance to immerse yourself in Black Ops 6’s distinct world on equal footing. Yes, it means beginning again, but is that really such a bad thing? With unique weapons, cosmetics, and innovative mechanics like Omnimovement, this title promises a brand-new and exciting experience that you won't want to miss out on.

Furthermore, for those still wanting to use their MW3 gear, Activision has you covered. Warzone will integrate content from Modern Warfare 2, MW3, and Black Ops 6, allowing you to enjoy your hard-earned items in battle royale mode. Plus, the Woods Operator Pack, a pre-order bonus, will be usable in both titles. This seems like a win-win scenario: embrace the fresh start that Black Ops 6 offers while enjoying familiar elements in Warzone.

As the release date for this exciting new installment approaches, stay tuned for further updates!
