Ah, Bethesda, creator of some of the most beloved franchises - what would we play without thee? Well, seems like we will play some more since there are new announcements from this year Bethesda E3 presentation. Let's find out what is new and let the hype flow.
It is no secret Fallout 76 was not to everyone's taste, with one major flaw - no human NPCs. The game relied on the interaction between real humans online, and while it was a neat idea on paper it didn't really work in practice, feeling empty and lacking "life", and Todd Howard, head of Bethesda, admitted it in front of everyone. But, instead of just admitting it and making us forget about it, Bethesda team stepped up and will release a free update Wastelander that will not only bring human NPCs, but it will also send you on a new main quest filled with choices and consequences that you will have to deal with.
The Nuclear Winter update will introduce a battle royal mode to Fallout 76, with up to 52 players fighting one against the other during the nuclear storm.
Deathloop, a new game from Arkane Studios, was presented via cinematic trailer and it looks impressive. The story follows two characters, Colt and Julianne, trying to kill one another, but with each kill the time resets and the hunt begins again. Colt is trying to break the loop while Julianne is trying to preserve it. It feels like a mix of Looper and Edge of Tomorrow rolled into a delicious plot. There was no gameplay shown but there is little reason to not trust Arkane Studios, so be sure to keep a close eye to this one.
Doom Eternal got a new trailer announcing Battlemode that will give you an option to control Doom Slayer or one of two demons. While Doom Slayer is outnumbered, he is compensating with maxed out weapons. Judging by what was shown in the trailer, Battlemode could be a thrilling multiplayer experience. You will be able to experience the demon hunting on November 22nd.
Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil, is returning with his studio Tango Gameworks to bring yet another horror game, GhostWire: Tokyo. The mind-blowing trailer reveals the world where people are mysteriously vanishing into thin air. How? Why? Is it demons? Was it Thanos snapping again? It is up to you to find out. Despite being a horror, the game will lean heavily into action territory rather than survival aspects. Considering previous work by Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within and its sequel) and the fact that Ikumi Nakamura, who worked on Okami and Bayonetta, is directing the game, this could be something truly special.
Last game we are going to talk about here is a spin.off of a beloved franchise, Wolfenstein: Young Blood. Nazis are taking over the 80s in the alternate past and it is up to two daughters of B.J. Blazcowicz, the character from the original game, to stop them. The emphasis is on co-op which means double the explosion and double the fun. Quality was always associated with Wolfenstein franchise, so Young Blood is sure to keep that trend.
Which game are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more E3 coverage.
