That's right: one of the most hyped-up PC sports games has only just launched, and we've already got a whole assortment of critique both casual and professional for you to check out. Whether it's official reviewers that you're most interested in, or just your regular average Joe's take, we've got a bit of everything featured in this article right here.
If you're not that crazy about FIFA 21 PC reviews, perhaps you're more interested in the game's system requirements and similar technical info? Oh yeah, we've got plenty of that, too, so just head on down and see for yourself. Who knows: you might even come across a discount or two!

With the game having come out earlier today, you're probably wondering how good is FIFA 21 really. Great news, then, because the reviews are now in, and we've hand-selected three of our favorite articles to feature snippets from.
To kick things off, IGN's reviewer seems to have been pleased with the game overall: "The more time you spend with it, the more you realise how many smaller tweaks have been made, most of them being beneficial," they said. "For one thing, EA appear to have hit a sweet spot with the pace of gameplay this year, with matches flowing smoothly and, crucially, the speed of the players feeling appropriate when compared to their real-life counterparts." They weren't too pleased with the apparent lack of game-changing new features, but as they said "FIFA 21 is a year of small improvements with much to enjoy, but little to shout about."
On the other hand, GamesRadar praised FIFA 21's iteration of the Career Mode, which they claim is "finally decent." Overall, their take is quite positive: "£50 gets you a lot of content, including a free upgrade to the next-gen version; there's more depth in the moment-to-moment gameplay than ever before and there is a slew of content, from Career Mode to Volta to Ultimate Team."
Our final showcase comes from The Guardian, who are just as happy with the game as IGN and GamesRadar were. "Whatever your pleasure," they said," FIFA 21 is off to a strong start."
Official, sanctioned critique aside, you might also be wondering what the players themselves are thinking about FIFA 21. To find out, we've gone ahead and checked out a bunch of Steam Reviews that people have already posted online. The current community rating for the game is 'Very Positive', with 110 reviews posted. Not bad! In more specific terms, players have weaved praise about FIFA 21's implementation of Volta football, as well as about its FUT improvements and quick update releases. Great optimization comes into play, too. On top of that, players have also mentioned cross-play between Steam and Origin versions of the game, and various assorted technical improvements over the previous years.
If you're anything like us, system spec requirements are one of the first things that come to mind when talking about an exciting new release. It's no different when it comes to FIFA 21 system requirements! Like most dedicated sports titles, FIFA games always need to push the envelope when it comes to visual fidelity, but it still needs to be playable on an extremely wide array of hardware. After all, some players only ever dabble in sports games, and FIFA 21 will be no different! We're happy to say that this year's offering won't be very difficult to run at all. Check the minimum and recommended system specs below!
As we said - pretty middling requirements, all things considered! Don't forget that the recommended Nvidia GPU launched a whopping 8 years ago: EA is really pushing it with these requirements, but we expect for more significant visual and spec requirements with the release of next-gen consoles later this year.
FIFA 21 is now out! You can get it with a neat little discount right here at 2Game, even. And this goes for all of its special editions, too. Find them all in our store using this link. Otherwise, keep reading for more pre-release information we had before the game came out!
Though EA's FIFA team has always prided itself on perfection through iteration, that's not to say there's nothing new and awesome to be looking forward to in FIFA 21! Quite the opposite: check out what novelties we're looking forward to the most in the following few paragraphs.
"Create more scoring opportunities with all-new dynamic attacking systems in the most intelligent FIFA gameplay to date," says FIFA 21's gameplay pitch. Devs have created an all-new Agile Dribbling system to ensure fast and precise player footwork for maximum control and responsiveness in the field. A skilled player should - ideally - be perfectly capable of using the new Positioning Personality system alongside new dribbles to outperform both AI and other players in real-time. The way this works is that the game's advanced intelligence features will cooperate with one another to create realistic and believable field opportunities no matter what's going on.
"Informed by feedback from the community, revisions to the fundamentals of football in FIFA raise the game throughout the pitch, with manual headers, more balanced blocking, more intelligent passing, and increased responsiveness giving you more control on and off the ball."
Sounds pretty neat, doesn't it? If you do end up being bored of how much more capable you are than baseline AI, however, the newfangled Competitor Mode promises to up the challenge even further. Legendary and Ultimate difficulties look to be the most intense they've ever been!
Far as FIFA 21 Career Mode goes, EA wishes to deepen the simulation systems even further and to enhance the existing features to their absolute max. Whether it was matches or management that might have felt half-baked before, you'll be happy to hear that virtually every element of this game-mode got substantial improvements this time around. It remains to be seen how it all meshes in FIFA 21, of course, but EA's newfound focus on granularity and control is just what we wanted to see.
Stay tuned for more reveals about the Career Mode this August!
Like always, FIFA 21 Ultimate Team will be all about building a practically unbeatable team of football players and veritable legends, and taking on the world. That's all well and good, of course, but what interests us the most is the all-new FUT CO-OP Mode, where two players can team up and compete for rewards!
"Join forces in both Division Rivals and Squad Battles to earn weekly progress, and work towards brand new Co-Op Objectives that reward playing together beyond winning on the pitch," says the official description from EA. With new customization features and gameplay options, this is looking to be the best Ultimate Team version yet, and we can't wait to see it in action this August.
A more exotic version of classic football, FIFA 21 Volta Football is a game in and of itself. With a focus on urban matches and unorthodox sessions, Volta has always been a special little universe all of its own. A favorite of ours, too!
Naturally, all of the baseline FIFA 21 gameplay enhancements will be making their way to Volta. Add extreme customization and personalization to the mix, as well as a wealth of different game-modes to compete in, and you've got a really special sort of mini-game that will capture the attention of many players who aren't necessarily intrigued by ordinary, run-of-the-mill football matches!
Volta Squads, for example, will support up to 5v5 online matches, meaning each and every player will control a single character in real-time. We don't know about you, but this very much tickles our fancy! We'll see how it all shapes up, come October, of course, but so far, we're huge fans of what we've seen.
EDIT, October 9 2020: Check out what the FIFA 21 PC reviews had to say about the game's new features and whether it's that big of an upgrade compared to the 2020 version!
Much has already been said about video game pricing for the next generation. Insider information suggests that we may be looking at a price hike from $60 to $70 as the default asking price. This does not - naturally - preclude video game development houses from generating additional revenue via microtransactions, DLCs, and even major expansion packs.
The kicker is, though, that video games have been $60 since forever, and even without accounting for inflation, this implies all sorts of issues with how modern game sales work. This is a big, big, big can of worms to be opening up, so we'll steer clear of that for the time being.
You may be happy to hear that FIFA 21 will only cost $60 / €60 on PC, so there's no need to worry about potential price hikes just yet. For the time being, it's business as usual! According to the FIFA 21 PC reviews, the game is a phenomenal bang for your buck.
That about does it for everything we know about FIFA 21 - so far! We hope you find this information handy in the hype-up period 'till the game's October launch. We know we'll be eagerly awaiting EA's next smash-hit, and with the novelties they've announced so far, the excitement seems to be well-warranted!
If you're interested in similarly thorough coverage of games here at 2Game, we've got a few recommendations you might be interested in! For example, we've got big Far Cry 6 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla features for you to check out. On a less informative and more funsies note, we've recently discussed Anthem's NEXT update - the revered Anthem 2.0 - as well as our thoughts on the very best Assassin's Creed game. Lots of fun stuff to go through, really.
Don't forget to check out our store, also! At the time of writing, we've got massive Capcom and Bandai Namco sales, as well as a substantial Death Stranding PC discount in place. For those who really want to get the most bang for their buck, make use of our 100% Cashback offer, too for huge long-term discounts.
