Even Now We're Still Connected! The World of Battle Man Network

Transport yourself to the year 200X and gain access to a digital metropolis known as the Network Society. In a world of humans and their PETs, mobile devices containing sentient NetNavis that help their owners access the plethora of benefits that the network has to offer, this neon-lit virtual reality is straight out of a futuristic sci-fi fantasy.

Just like any good sci-fi fantasy, however, it's not long before the cracks in the system begin to show. And things start to go drastically wrong.

Join 6th grader Lan Hikari and his NetNavi MegaMan.EXE as they battle enemy rogue programs, deadly viruses, and corrupt hackers, in an attempt to protect their virtual world from an underworld network of cybercrime.

Meet the Characters

The main protagonists of the series are Lan Hikari and his NetNavi / best friend MegaMan.EXE. Indeed our story begins when Lan discovers a nasty virus in his oven which charrs his breakfast and nearly sets his mother alight. This leads the duo of heroes on a mission to investigate the nefarious WWW organization.

While Lan searches the real world for clues, logging into various computers and electronic devices to enter the Network, MegaMan leads the way in the cyber realm. Battling corrupt programs and hacking computer systems in search of answers. Switch back and forth between characters safe in the knowledge that your partner is never far from your side, always available to offer guidance when needed.

Other characters integral to the narrative and gameplay include friends and rivals of Lan who challenge our young hero to battles and mini-games; Lan's father, a genius scientist and one of the architects of the NetNavis programs; criminal mastermind and CEO of the WWW Dr. Wily; and MegaMan's main adversary Bass, a powerful Navi who instigates fights with strong opponents to try and bolster his power.

A real-time, turn-based system that combines both action and strategy, the battle system of MegaMan Battle Network differs from traditional RPGs by emphasizing skill as a primary gameplay factor.

Armed with an arsenal of chips, each with its own unique powers and abilities, it is down to you to select the appropriate offense and defense moves for the enemy that you face, depending on its specific strengths and weaknesses. Victories earn you Battle Points that can be used to purchase and upgrade your chips to help give you the edge on your opponents.

Sound straightforward enough? But wait, there's more.

Each chip uses up a certain amount of memory, of which storage is limited, making your chip management a little more complex. Add to this the ticking clock and the need to defeat your foe within a certain period of time, and you will soon experience a quickening of the pulse as the pressure begins to mount.

Like a high-stakes game of digital chess, the mix of fast-paced action, strategy, and resource management make for a thrilling and challenging experience that is both original and compelling. Just come prepared for your skills to be put to the test!
