What is Tekken Prowess meaning I hear you ask? Read on to find out! Tekken 7 Season 4 Patch Notes are here, announcing the latest myriad of changes that have arrived in one of the most prolific fighting games on the planet. While the majority of changes lie in character-specific tweaks and mods, there are a few crucial grand-level introductions to bear in mind, too. Prowess, for example, serves as a complete rework of player skill identification in-game.
What we'll do here is basically do a full Tekken 7 Season 4 patch notes overview, and continue with character-specific changes once we've gone through that. Being an extremely technical game, Tekken 7 is perfect for the more detail-oriented gamers among us. If you see yourself in that description, be sure to scroll through the following lines for sure.

As you may or may not know, Tekken 7 has now reached its Version 4.0, which is nothing short of impressive. For such a major version jump, there obviously need to be some major changes ahead. As we explained above, this is very much the case, especially with the brand-spanking-new Tekken Prowess system. We won't dawdle too much. Check out the full patch notes below:
That's the good stuff in the most general possible terms. While most of these tweaks, changes, and additions are rather self-explanatory, we do believe that the game's new Tekken Prowess system si worth a more detailed look.
The new Tekken Prowess feature is essentially an ELO-ish rework that tells you how skillful you are, basically at a glance. Here's what the official pitch has to say about it:
What this all should boil down to is that your personal skill in matches will be directly reflected in the way your Prowess is displayed. We'll see how this meshes with the actual player representation in practice, of course. So far, though? It's not half bad.
When we say that there's been a lot of character-specific changes made with Version 4.0, we mean it. The official dev-supplied document sits at just under 50 friggin' pages of text, and we're not even going to make an attempt at summarizing that. However. Huge props to Tekken devs for organizing their update structure as thoroughly as they have. First things first, use the link below to download the full 50 pages of the patch notes:
As you'll notice basically immediately, each page of the document corresponds to a specific character. Not only that, but there are also character-specific move-set tables with extremely detailed changelogs for each and every move that's been altered. Now that is some serious attention to detail that we have nothing but praise for.
So, for example, if you scroll down to the 'YOSHIMITSU' section of the document, you'll see a handy table that's as straightforward as it could possibly get.
Admittedly, it doesn't really look the part at first, but we promise: it becomes really simple when you start reading the actual text. If you're well-acquainted with the character in question, even better: you'll have no trouble at all figuring out the specific changes any of their specific moves have undergone now that Season 4 is out.
For casual players - such as yours truly - this will make basically no difference at all, and you can safely ignore the document. For professionals, though, we believe this will be completely invaluable and well-worth poring over.
Now that we've gone over all the technical data, what remains is to check out the actual Season 4 content. Meaning: new characters, new stages, new customizations - the more casual side of things. We've been more than happy to see that there's actually a fair bit of stuff to chase and play around with:
The Stages themselves are fine, of course. Nothing wrong with a fresh combat arena now and then. What we're most excited about, however, are the playable characters, and the legendary Kunimitsu has been at the top of everyone's list of most desirable new fighters.
It's still a tad early to tell what sort of effect Season 4 and Update 4.0 will have on the long-term health of Tekken 7, as well as its online meta. We are very much looking forward to finding out, however, and we're sure you're eager to jump right in, too. Have fun!
