You heard that right: we've already confirmed a year's worth of content. Now, not to toot our own horn, but we kinda did call this early last year. With Immortal Empires out and kicking Chaos butt, and with more and more factions, campaigns, and Legendary Lords entering the fray, what comes next is very exciting indeed.

If all you need is a fast-and-loose summary of all the good bits, the official timeline should work wonders! In summary, Creative Assembly has got at least three big new DLCs and version updates in mind for Total Warhammer 3. And it gets better, too, because CA even gave us a reasonably solid idea of what to expect with each new version update. So, for example, we now know that there's a bunch of free content coming down the line, even though paid DLC comes part and parcel, too.

For those who are unfamiliar with the devs' previous DLC output, look no further than the recent launch of the Chaos Dwarf DLC for this very game. These big, chunky pieces of content aren't always for everyone. For fans of the given factions and/or races, though, they're basically indispensable.

Mid-version patches are coming, too!

Before we continue with the exciting bits, it's worth highlighting that big mid-version patches are also announced. Notably, the next update is patch 3.1, which will implement the following changes:

Patch 3.1 will launch in the final week of May, so expect full patch notes in the interim!

Shadows of Change - Version 4.0

Focused primarily on Tzeentch with Cathay and Kislev also getting some time in the sun, Shadows of Change aims to revitalize these factions and races with new units, Legendary Heroes, and more. A particularly notable highlight is the focus on AI updates at large, which has the potential to be truly game-changing in the grand scheme of things.

Thrones of Decay - Version 5.0

An obvious pointed focus on Nurgle is present with the Thrones of Decay DLC. However, as is the case with its predecessor, Shadows of Change, this DLC too includes a comprehensive suite of updates and upgrades to the Empire and Dwarf factions, which is going to be interesting considering their age. Creative Assembly has also confirmed the presence of all-new campaigns that will continue expanding the game's roster of content, which is impressive to say the least!

TBA - Version 6.0

Finally, though CA hasn't specified the focal point for the big unannounced third DLC, the obvious implication is that it might focus on Slaneesh. However, players can also expect a suite of upgrades for two additional playable races, as well as a whole slew of additional content that's bound to freshen things up ahead of future developments. As should be plainly obvious by now, there are some really big things ahead for Total Warhammer 3. Not that we ever doubted this was the case: Creative Assembly and SEGA have invested so much time, money, and effort into building the greatest virtual Warhammer tabletop that it would be a huge shame just to drop it and be done with the whole shindig.
