Ready for a list of the top upcoming PC games? It's going to be good! Already, we've had some of the finest PC gaming of the decade, with classics such as Elden Ring and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Well, you'll be pleased to know that the trend is set and bound to continue, with upcoming new PC games in 2022 blowing our minds one after another throughout the year.
To be fair, we're in for a bit of a slow May, but it's pandemonium after that. Now, if you're interested in scheduling ahead and possibly taking some time off to play, say, the next Digimon game or a new Bethesda RPG, this is the article you've been waiting for.
Quite simply, we've assembled a list of all the most exciting PC games coming out before the end of 2022, along with all known release dates. Depending on how it all goes, odds are solid we'll be introducing a fair few of them to our list of top 100 PC games of all time. And that means you absolutely, positively need to play them sooner or later.
In more ways than one, The Quarry is a spiritual successor to the legendary Until Dawn. While Supermassive Games never strayed far from its horror game formula, Dark Pictures is a different type of horror adventure than Until Dawn, and fans were hoping that Supermassive would do something a tad bit different eventually. That 'eventually' is now, though, as The Quarry is just a few short months away from release at the time of writing! Expect a huge cast of pro actors and almost 200 endings!
It's downright incredible to be able to write this, but Klonoa is coming to PC. Now, this duology of classic PlayStation 3D platformers never quite got the widespread attention it deserved in the West, but Bandai Namco has taken it upon itself to finally bring the games up to date. Both Door to Phantomile and Lunatea's Veil are included in the pack, and those who remember the games are sure to be thrilled to be able to play them on new hardware.
Yet another new game by Bandai Namco, Digimon Survive is finally coming out this July, and it promises a return to form for the beloved franchise. The game will, as the subtitle implies, have a darker and more grounded tone than some might expect. This does make perfect sense, however, as the franchise seems to be turning away from attempting to compete with the likes of Pokemon, and cutting out its own niche instead. The hype engines are, indeed, already running.
Effectively both a sequel and a side-quel to Two Point Hospital, Two Point Campus is an immersive sim that builds upon the core premise of a wacky, Wallace 'n' Gromit style of humor, opening up an entirely new aspect of the Two Point universe. Players should expect all the charm that they've come to know and love in Hospital, but with deeper gameplay mechanics, more customization, and more ways to truly make the given universities their own. A slam dunk, we reckon.
How does Saint Row linked with previous games? After Saint's Row 3 jumped the shark, Saints' Row 4 jumped another shark, and Saints' Row: Gat Out of Hell was just an objectively ridiculous game that leaped across an entire shiver of sharks all at once. To that end, rebooting Saints' Row was the obvious thing to do, and the game looks downright phenomenal. The ridiculousness is taking a step back, thankfully, and customization is being pushed as the finest it's ever been. A return to the form of Saints' Row 2, perhaps? One can hope!
Marvel's Midnight Suns is what happens when XCOM developers end up needing to make a turn-based Marvel game that also, coincidentally, features a Cthulhu expy. This turn-based strategy features hybridized card game elements, and so far, things have been looking rather phenomenal. Naturally, we are sorry to see XCOM 3 sidelined in lieu of Midnight Suns, but truthfully, this is a game that simply needed to be made. Who else to do the job, other than Firaxis?
The logic behind Darktide is simple: what if Fatshark made Vermintide, but in Warhammer 40,000, rather than Warhammer Fantasy? Well, we're about to find out in mid-September, but there's no real reason to be concerned here. Developers have already shown an adaptation of Vermintide 2's own classes, and a greater focus on brutal ranged modern warfare than was present before. They can pull it off, and we've little doubt that the game will go hard.
Starfield needs no particular introduction, we believe. This is - at long, long last - an entirely new and original Bethesda Game Studios IP. The space game Todd Howard and his team always wanted to make! Coincidentally, it's also been described as 'Skyrim in space,' which will suit every Fallout/Elder Scrolls fan just fine. Expect a massive, sprawling, and rugged science-fiction universe that will, if nothing else, be infinitely moddable.
Coming from the original creators of Dead Space, believe it or not, Callisto Protocol is a PUBG game. Or, rather, it's set in the very same universe as PUBG, for better or for worse. Thankfully, the game is pretty far removed from its apparent franchising deal, as it's set in the early 2300s, with the narrative taking place on Callisto, the moon of Jupiter. It's a horror third-person adventure that has, so far, ticked all the right boxes. Whether it pans out, we'll just need to wait and see.
A dark and brutal look at the mental anguish of an ancient Pictish warrior-princess, Hellblade is unique in its approach to narrative and gameplay intermingling. For what it's worth, Hellblade 2 seems to be taking the same approach as the first game, and applying it to an entirely new evolution of Senua's psychosis, in that she is now joined by an entire tribe of warriors as they fight with what looks to be - giants. Nothing is ever straightforward in Hellblade, however, and there are surprises packed in for sure.
