It's 2020, and live-streamed video game events are all the rage! Not necessarily because we want to watch them online, but because it really is the only option. Microsoft's own Xbox 20/20 event is no different in this regard, but its function is a tiny bit different from all the other digital gaming conventions.
Starting with May 7th, the Xbox staff will be granting us a monthly look at what's the next step for Microsoft's gaming service. Each month, we'll get a brand-new Xbox 20/20, with exciting new info to share. Whether it's a gander at next-gen gameplay or straight-up trailers and game announcements, rest assured that we'll have something cool and fresh to talk about every month.
Our job, as it were, is to keep you posted about the news revealed this way! Just below, you'll find a comprehensive list of all the novelties the Xbox team has revealed with each new month, alongside links to streams, media, and more. Let's get to it!
Of course, if you're not big on reading, and you've got about an hour's worth of time to spare, you can also watch the Xbox 20/20 stream yourself. The May 7th showcase is slated for 8 AM PDT. There's a number of links you can watch the stream at, too.
Note that 4K will only be available via Youtube, if that's something you're curious about. It just goes to show that Microsoft is eager to cover all of their bases, every step of the way. We're fans of that! Naturally, chances are that other major gaming events will offer similar options and functionality, but we'll get to that in due time.
Microsoft's Xbox team isn't pulling any punches, we can tell you that much! They've gone so far as to feature the very first Xbox Series X gameplay showcase as part of their initial Xbox 20/20.
The initial showcase was pretty much jam-packed with awesomeness. It's worth pointing out that some of these games, like CHORVS, we know pretty much nothing about. Others, like Scorn, disappeared from the limelight a while back, only to now appear, when nobody expected them to. We'll keep you in the loop as we find out more, of course, but the bottom line is that 20/20 has so far been a phenomenal showcase of exciting stuff.
For the most part, trailers haven't been that substantial, though this is surely owing to the fact that there's not enough time for developers to really go in-depth. On that note, some of the devs did join back in after the trailers to describe their games. We got a bit more info on Valhalla and Dirt 5, for example.
We expect this trend to continue with the future Xbox 20/20 events, and we'll make sure to upload appropriate trailers here as soon as they're available!
Now that that's all out of the way, watch the full 30-minute trailer feature below, and consult the timestamps featured below if you're chasing after a specific trailer!
